Welcome to bigcheese photography (uk)

With 30+ years of experience & knowledge to fall back on, we're sure that we can bring: colour, life, drama, humour & a sprinkling of creativity to whatever photographic project you throw at us. We're equally happy working to a brief or will take over the creative & art direction if required.

Commercial photography is about getting results for clients. Often, it isn't easy or cheap but a skilled, experienced photographer maximises your investment whether it's in products, services or people.

Over the years we've won many awards including:
"British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) NW Photographer of the Year" and "BIPP National Industrial Photographer of the Year"

Qualifications include:
Fellowship, the highest level within the BIPP,
Full, accredited membership of the Association of Photographers (AoP) &
Qualified European Photographer (QEP) with the Federation Of European Photographers (FEP)

We've served on the BIPP National Admissions & Qualifications Panel, have given dozens of demonstrations & presentations around the UK and have been asked to judge many Regional & National Print Awards.

However, although receiving qualifications & awards is great, we only ever judge ourselves on what we do for our clients & we're always ready for a challenge, whether creative or logistical!

Image Licensing:
Many of our images are available for licensing. We have a basic set of standard Licensing fees for common image uses e.g: websites & social media. A PDF version of our ratecard is available, on request, with prices starting from as low as £250.00 + VAT. Please note that License fees vary depending upon many factors including, but not limited to; scope of use, geographical area, type & number of publications etc etc. Please note that full Copyright is only assigned in the most exceptional of circumstances & generally we require full attribution & we assert all Moral Rights to our work.

GDPR Declaration:
We promise to never share your information with any 3rd party. This website uses Apius & Google Analytics gathering only anonymous website use data. No personal information of any kind is collected other than the form entries. We take all reasonable precautions to keep our data safe including password protection, full encryption of hard drives and use of secure servers.

A standard Licence to Use is 3 yrs from date of shooting.
Payment terms are 30 days from date of invoice and no licence to use is granted until payment has been received in full.

3rd Party Uses:
Use of bigcheese work by a third party company i.e a company or person not involved in the original commission is allowable only after having been given prior written permission from bigcheese as the Copyright holder and, only after a suitable reproduction fee has been paid. This fee varies depending on use (web site, print or social media) and length of time a licence to use is required.
Single image use for websites starts at £250.00 pa with credit (image courtesy ©Stephen Dodd/bigcheese.co.uk) + 100% without visible credit to bigcheese. (All image uses must be credited unless a prior agreement not to do so is in place - we reserve the right to invoice additional fees should the end user not attribute)

Print: Subject to negotiation depending on placement, size and print run.
